Archbishop John Nienstedt is asking Catholics from all walks of life in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis to share their concerns and ideas about family life today.
A survey, emailed and written responses and listening sessions all are part of gathering input that the U.S. bishops will offer as part of the “lineamenta,” the preparation document for the Synod on the Family in October, “The Vocation and Mission of the Family in the Church and Contemporary World.”
Catholics can learn more about their role here.
Catholics can offer input by the March 10 deadline four ways:
* Take the electronic survey
* Offer concerns and ideas via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
* Mail concerns and ideas to:

March is MN Foodshare Month
During the month of March, St. Joseph’s is joining people from across the state to help alleviate hunger. Minnesota FoodShare’s March Campaign is the largest food drive in the state, and every dollar donated goes directly to food shelves to purchase food for the hungry. In 2013, there were more than 3 million visits to Minnesota food shelves.
Empty Bowls – March 3
Help us kick off MN Foodshare Month with the 2015 Empty Bowls on March 3 from 4-7 pm at Sandburg Learning Center (2400 Sandburg Lane, Golden Valley). Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. Guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in our community.
Handcrafted bowls created and donated by community members will be available for a donation. Then enjoy a simple meal of soup and bread, all donated by local businesses. Singers, musicians and bands will be playing all evening. Proceeds go to PRISM and NEAR food shelves as they work to end hunger and food insecurity in our community. Last year, nearly $14,000 was raised to help alleviate hunger in our community. This year the need is even greater and the goal is to raise $20,000. To learn more about this event, call Jason in the Parish Office.
