" taking the body of Jesus,
Joseph wrapped it
and laid it in his new tomb..."
(Matthew 27:59)
In keeping with the practice of burying the dead, the Catholic Church sets aside cemeteries as sacred ground - the resting place of the faithful departed.
St. Joseph's cemetery has been in use since the late 1800's and is located next to the Historic Little Church in Plymouth. Since space for in ground burials is limited, a columbarium was added in 2008 for the burial of cremains (96 niches) and another larger columbarium is currently being constructed. Each niche is large enough for two urns.
If you are ready to engrave your niche, please complete a Columbarium Engraving Form
(see Documents section on this page or contact the Parish Office).
The foundation work for the columbarium expansion began in October 2020. Once 25 niches of the 200 are sold, we will order the actual columbarium with the goal of completion/installment by Memorial Day 2021.
If you are interested in reserving a new columbarium niche, please review the Columbarium Information Brochure and contact Lynn if you would like to place an order.
