FAITH FORMATION Faith Formation is the process of transmitting the Gospel message, the good news of Jesus, as the Christian community has received it, understands it, celebrates it, lives it and communicates it. It is a ministry of teaching, forming and providing fellowship for our parishioners. We form disciples so they may be closer to Christ and have a “living, conscious and active faith.” More on Faith Formation from Bishop Hebda (Click Picture for Recording) Additional information can be found under the applicable youth group tab: Preschool & Kindergarten - Age 3 - Kindergarten Elementary (Grades 1 - 5) Middle School Youth Ministry (In-Touch) (Grades 6 - 8) High School Youth Ministry (On the Rock) (Grades 9 - 12) Registration Form: See Links section. Catechists and Assistants: We have ongoing programs and one time opportunties for people of all ages and interests to help them grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus Christ. Training is provided, watch church communications for more information. Protecting God's Children: The Archdiocese requires all adult volunteers who work with children and all employees are to be VIRTUS trained, attending a 3 hour live training session called Protecting God’s Children that combats sexual abuse of children in the Church. In addition each volunteer is required to complete VIRTUS Training including a background check, the Code of Conduct Training, Reporting Suspected Child Abuse Training, and sign a Code of Conduct. The trainings and background check are to be completed before a volunteer or employee is allowed to begin their ministerial duties. The Archdiocese also requires a Personal Safety Lesson to be taught to all children/youth registered in our programs. Anyone who fails to attend the scheduled Personal Safety Lesson is required to attend a make-up session. The material used for these sessions teaches the basic information covered in the 3 hour Protecting God’s Children training but is adjusted to be age appropriates. Please contact us if you are called to serve in this ministry or to become an active part of it. |
