We support our troops serving overseas by sending them candy, homemade scarves, small stuffed animals, handwritten cards, checks for shipping costs, and many other items donated and brought to the Parish by our parishioners.
We work with Operation Gratitude who will ship the care packages in the cold winter months to our brave troops.
Each care package also includes a lovingly handmade scarf or hat. To make that happen, knitting and crocheting volunteer talents are needed. There is no specific pattern to follow; keep it simple. Scarves should be no larger than 4”- 6” wide, 48” to 50” long. Any soft yarn is fine. Recommended colors – blues, browns, greens, grays, maroon and black (no white). Stripes using these colors, multi-colored yarn and red, white and blue color combinations are also acceptable. A note of thanks and encouragement attached to the scarf would be a blessing to our courageous military men and women serving our country.
