Interactive Bible Study!
The Chosen is a spectacular, faith-based, multi-season television series based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and focused on unifying people of different faiths and backgrounds. The disciples who Jesus chose, tell us about their interactions with Him in a beautiful and believably way; through their eyes and how they were so greatly impacted.
St. Joseph’s will be hosting these bible studies at the Parish Center accompanied with a light meal. We will watch one episode of the season each week, followed by a fruitful discussion. What makes The Chosen even more exciting is our very own parishioner Dwight Ettel was an extra in Season 3 - Feeding of the 5000 (see picture below)! Dwight will co-lead the bible studies with Gene Bakke in this very awe-inspiring, moving portrayal of the life of Jesus.
Associated discussion materials will also be used to foster fruitful conversations.

October 1 and 2
Episode 1 - Homecoming
Jesus delivers the Sermon on the Mount to thousands of believers before he and his disciples return to their families.
October 8 and 9
Episode 2 - Two by Two
While home with their families, the apostles wrestle with the things Jesus said in His Sermon on the Mount. Jesus calls them to begin their proselyting missions.
October 15 and 16
Episode 3 - Physician, Heal Yourself
Jesus returns to his childhood home of Nazareth for the Jewish New Year celebration. While reunited with loved ones, Jesus must address the rumors surrounding his divine mission and ministry.
October 22 and 23
Episode 4 - Clean, Part 1
The apostles return home from their missions but are confused about how they performed their miracles. Eden befriends a new woman in town.
October 29 and 30
Episode 5 - Clean, Part 2
Simon and Gaius work together amid rising tensions to fix the water shortage; Jairus and Veronica search for Jesus, their only hope in this crisis.
November 12 and 13
Episode 6 - Intensity in Tent City
Andrew and Philip learn that the destruction caused by their last mission requires their return; Simon Z is ultimately compelled to face his past.
November 19 and 20
Episode 7 - Ears to Hear
Jesus and the disciples undertake a dangerous journey to the Decapolis after Andrew and Philip return with news of a crisis in the area.
December 3 and 4
Episode 8 - Sustenance
As Jesus preaches, thousands of people show up to listen and argue. Preaching continues the following day, where many are hungry but there is no food.
